History doesn't repeat sometimes (IM#303)

It is said that history repeats, but it doesn't sometimes.

For an instance, when you predict the earning per share (EPS) of the stocks looking at the positive response history, you might get hurt. That stock might miss the expected EPS even though it has beaten on the past four earnings (in most of the cases). Contrary, it might show the positive response in spite of the negative history.

We are being fooled everyday if we try to predict the upcoming earnings per share (EPS) looking at the past EPS alone.

So, then what should we consider?

There are still lots of things to learn when we watch the market everyday very closely because history doesn't repeat sometimes. Our each leanings should be used as our new principles to break the odds in our way.

It is most important to look at the company's expenses and news in the earning period. The company might have lots of expenses on some future grand projects or innovations resulting the low EPS. They might have low revenue even though they have beaten the expected EPS, which results big swing in stock market.

One of our weakness (IM#302)

Instant gratification has become one of the weakness of humans today. We spend money on the things that we don't really need just to fulfill our emotions.

Buying things for immediate gratification is nothing more than attempting to bring dissatisfaction in our lives in expense of the emotion we have.

We don't change (IM#301)

We don't change unless we want to.

We change only when we are dedicated to change and that needs some trigger. Only when we truly think change is necessary then we go for it otherwise we just neglect it.

The truth is if we need a different result then we need to change our perspective, habits and the way we act. But We got to have desire to change.

Measure Fear Against Opportunity (IM#300)

We are often told not to be fearful, as if fear is the only thing standing in our way.

But what about opportunity?

If we remove fear alone, is that enough to reach our true potential? No. Fear is only one side of the equation. Opportunity matters too.

That is why it is important to feel fear in proportion to opportunity. There should be a balance. If we only listen to fear, we shrink the future before it has a chance to unfold. But if we can see the opportunity with equal seriousness, fear no longer gets to speak alone.

The point is not to become fearless. It is to stop letting fear be the only voice that decides.

Control the things you can (IM#299)

There are few things we can't control. It's what other people think about us, our company or the organization. We can't control what other people write about us. We can't control our past and the future.

The only moment we can control is the "present" and what we do everyday.

So, it's important to share what you think and feel about you, your company or the organization to make other people (who care about your company, products, or organization) know about it. It's because its important and nobody else does if you don't. This is the thing we can control.

How we share or open ourselves or our company's value to others who care about it determine its future. Everything else is out of our control.

So, control the things you can.

The drug we all should take (IM#298)

The drug we all should take is the drug of optimism and self-awareness...

We all over-judge ourselves in every chapter of our life. As result of this, most of us become overwhelmed by the situation and keep dwelling.

The only thing optimism and self-awareness bring in these situations is happiness and peace of mind and that is all we're seeking. If we understand this little concept and prescribe this drug to ourselves, all the sufferings and dwellings come to end.

Bless that which you want (IM#297)

We don't have to be perfect to become successful in our life, but we need to recognize when our thoughts are empowering to us and other people. We must have the ability to re-focus on the thoughts that are more supportive if our thoughts are enslaving us.

We must admire the things that we want. We must respect other people's success when we are in search of success.

There is a Huna Philosophy which goes, "Bless that which you want." If we have the heart to respect others success, then we develop the mentality of grabbing success.

"Flap your wings" - A lesson from duck (IM#296)

There is an important lesson we can learn from ducks.

Ducks "flap their wings" after they fight with each other throwing away their anger and hatred. Humans, on the other hand, keep their ego and remember slight tussle with other people for very long time. They bury themselves with lot of hatred, envy, jealousy and ego.

So, humans should just forget their past and focus only on the present, where real things are happening.

Consider these before investing (IM#295)

  1. Always be prepared for the worst possible scenario.
  2. Play/invest only with what you can afford to lose.
  3. Learn from every moves and make principles from it.
  4. Stick to your principles.
  5. Be patient and read the market and the patterns.
  6. Differentiate yourself from others.
  7. Be consistent and disciplined.

There is no upside without the downfall (IM#294)

...it's the law of nature.

There is no good without a bad, no highs without the lows. The pleasure of wild party tonight might turn into bleakness and can bring a terrible hangover the next morning.

If you consider a stock market, the price of stocks will go up only after it shows bearish pattern. So the downside carries huge importance. There is a huge price to pay if we neglect the negative side (and that is the unawareness with the reality).

Confident are those who have overcome fearful state. Optimists are those who have acknowledged the pain of pessimism. The light of consciousness only comes from the fire of suffering.

If we stop, look, analyze and become open then every downfall have important lesson to teach us...
