Making things that matter (IM 373)

We always want to do something meaningful. That's the reason we're living. If it's not for doing something that add meaning to other people life then what we all are doing is just surviving.

And remember, surviving is not living.

This is the reason I started I-MIND hoping to add meaning to the people of my country and world as a whole. With the essence of delivering extraordinary service, I vowed to this startup. With the idea, which is now on execution process, I-MIND will be working to develop the technology and business sector in Nepal not for the sake of business or something extrinsic and materialistic but for the service with the hope of enhancing people's life.

PS: Hope everything will work fine as long as I intend to execute.

Initiation (IM 372)

Everybody want to do something great but they never execute on it. There may be many reasons like fear, lack of determination and skills. There  must be a initiator to initiate the work who can inspire them to do it.

The only way to get initiative is to take it. It’s never given. Some people hesitate to take it, because they’re worried that we’ll somehow run out.

We’re not going to run out. It’s a self-renewable. So if you really wanna do something, go initiate...

Be water...(IM 371)

I love this quote from Bruce Lee:
"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."
Don't try to make your way, but instead be patient like water and be what situation requires. Sometimes no action is a action.

Add something meaningful (IM 370)

There are times when we are demotivated and lazy. There are times when we know we need to do something and we have something to do but we are not able to do it. May it be because of lack of time or lack of interest or whatever it is.

I believe it is because of lack of something that adds meaning to our life. Our soul always seeks for something meaningful. That's how humans are made, that how our mind, body and soul are designed.

So, when we add meaningful thing into out to do list, it not only excites us but also urges us to to become active and complete the task. That's the power of the meaningful work.

Task vs Project (IM 369)

Task is something that we have to finish in a limited time in expense of money. It is something that is small and done by an individual in a specific area.

Project is something that we dedicate our time to learn something very big. It is done in a large group and takes longer time.

We should never confuse task with our project. Always allocate proper time and people in task and project by studying its complexity and amount of work it needs.

Apple's "Think Different" (IM 368)

In 1997 Apple introduced "Think different" advertising campaign which changed the way people think about it. They started to think apple differently.
Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes . . . the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do.
Seeing these words were images like Bob Dylan as a misfit, Martin Luther King Jr. as a trouble maker and Edison as the one without respect for the  status quo.

But everything changed because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do.

An endless thoughts (IM 367)

What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal, a freely chosen task.
-Viktor E. Frankl, Holocaust survivor, author of Man’s Search for Meaning

Life exists to be enjoyed and feel good about ourselves. Every person has their own vehicle of achieving those which depends on their belief system and mindsets. Those vehicles will change upon time as we encounter different experiences.

Some people choose  for striving and struggling towards their goal where they find themselves enjoyable while other people go for easy and shortcuts.

Neither of them is a problem; it's the way they live and its completely personal.

Some people criticize on the focus of self-love and enjoyment as selfish or hedonists; but it's neither. It's just the way of living and it's totally acceptable.

Some people argue life is only about continual learning, exploring, exploring and growing.

Other relate life as morality.

Well, it's a not ending debate.

Morality is simply the attitude we adopt toward people we personally dislike.
-Oscar Wilde

Something is unbalanced (IM 366)

Marcus Aurelius and Ryan Holiday will say "The obstacle is the way". This does not mean seeing problem and accepting them and leaving them to foster. Nor does it mean to rationalize it to something good.

It means seeking solutions. It means using pain to find clarity insists Tim Ferriss.

Here is how Tim Ferriss uses it in real life -

"For me, step one is always the same: write down the 20% of activities and people causing 80% or more of your negative emotions. My step two is doing a “fear-setting” exercise on paper, in which I ask and answer “What is really the worst that could happen if I did what I’m considering? And so what? How could I undo any damage?”

“He who suffers before it is necessary suffers more than is necessary.”
– Seneca

This unbalanced state must be balanced as soon as possible. Since the start of this semester because of the tight schedule, I'm feeling overwhelmed and I started to feel something is unbalanced. And I'm constantly seeking solution to it.

Acknowledging that something is unbalanced is the first step towards fixing it which I'm already in.

Sometimes, it takes just a piece of paper and a few questions in the head to create a breakthrough.

The spider strategy (IM 365)

Spider strategy is applying the spider concept of building its web in our real life whether it be solving problems in life or business.

Spider starts by making a small web in circle and then expands it to larger web.

In the same way, we can apply this strategy in our life and work place. First, make a prototype, test it, solve problem or flaws if we encounter any, and then expand it to next version. This strategy is the spider strategy and it works.

Divide and conquer (IM 364)

No matter how difficult a task appears, progress becomes easier when the problem is divided into smaller parts. Large goals often feel overwhelming because we try to solve the entire problem at once instead of isolating one section at a time.

As an electrical engineer troubleshooting a hardware issue, I cannot approach the entire system blindly. If a board fails, I isolate the problem by tracing the signal path through upstream and downstream stages: checking power rails, regulators, communication lines, sensors, grounding, filtering stages, and subsystem behavior step by step until the failure point becomes visible. The system becomes solvable once the complexity is narrowed into manageable sections.

The same principle applies to life and business. Large projects, habits, financial goals, and personal struggles become easier to handle when divided into smaller routines, stages, or actionable units. Solving one layer at a time creates clarity and momentum.

Many problems become manageable once complexity is properly isolate.
