What is Transcendental Meditation? (IM 595)

Transcendental is something that is related to spiritual or non-physical stuffs. It is something that is characterized in the level of soul not in the level of physical or material world.Meditation is the practice for being present and clear all thoughts.

Transcendental Meditation is not a philosophy. Let's go back to the history. The Transcendental Meditation technique or TM is a form of silent mantra meditation, developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. There’s nothing mystical, religious or magical about this process, however; the wisdom of our mind simply starts to manifest itself when given a chance.

A Transcendental meditation is a simple, natural and effortless technique that allows active thinking mind to settle down and experience quieter level of thoughts or transcendental level or of thoughts within every human being. It is done by repeating some mantras numerous time and being present in the present moment and avoiding distracting thoughts.

Change your story (IM 594)

We all have our own story that we create in our mind. But we never realize that we live into our story; more precisely, we’re trapped into it.

We make the story of our success. We make the story of our failure. We even make the story of our strengths and our fears in our mind. The tragedy here is: we believe this made-up story too quick and with certainty. That’s when we get trapped by it and when we realize it, it’s too late.

Everything we do and every action we take is not actually done by us but it is due to the story we create of ourselves. Our story determines our actions. Strong story makes us strong and the weak one makes us vulnerable. So it’s worthy to change our story and make it better to improve the future of human being.

A WINDING RIVER (IM 593)

Life is like a winding river, a river with the lots of twists and turns.

We can see the next bend only when we reach to the bend before that.  We can not predict the next bend; we can only pass through it.

So the idea here is to get ready to face twists and turns, give the best you can,  take actions and then correct along the way. This is possibly the best way to deal with it.

Opinion and experience (IM 592)

Opinion is the view, belief or the judgement formed about something, not necessarily  based on knowledge or facts or experience. Experience is the personal observation on facts that arises after getting physically involved on something.

There is a huge difference between opinion and experience. Experience is not opinionated but opinion may be an experience.

The driving force of economy (IM 591)

The trust in the future is what enables bank and the entire economy to flourish. Before 18th century, credit system didn't exist and hence, they economy was undervalued. They people back then didn't have the trust in the future. They thought that the future can't be better than the present.

But as the scientific and industrial revolution took place, the mindset changed. People started to trust in future, which gave rise to credit, credit was then used to pay the workers and contractors, which increases the productivity. Increase in productivity increased profits. The increase in the profit built more trust in the future.

The trust in the future created credit, credit brought real economic growth; growth strengthened the trust in future and opened the way of even more credit. And the cycle continues.

In 1776, Adam Smith published The Wealth of Nations, the most economic manifesto of all the time. In the eighth chapter of its volume, Smith made the following novel argument: When a landlord, a weaver, or a shoemaker has greater profits than he needs to maintain his own family, he uses the surplus to employ more assistance to further increase the profit. The more profit he has the more assistance he can employ, which follows increase in profit , wealth and prosperity.

Smith said that greed is good, and by becoming rich one can benefit everyone not just oneself. He said, "If I'm poor you will be poor too since I cannot buy any products or good from you. If I'm rich, you will be enriched too since you can now sell me something."

This capitalism mindset is what is driving the economy of the world. The credit on the other hand is increasing the pace of economy.

The scandal to avoid during this crisis (IM 590)

As the Coronavirus pandemic is hitting hard, the number of cases and the death is skyrocketing with about 4.9 millions people already infected and 318,000 dead worldwide. Big healthcare companies like Abbott Laboratories, Moderna, Invio, Johnson & Johnson, Gilead Sciences, Inc., Novavax, Inc., Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.,   are battling to discover the vaccines for Covid-19. The stock price of these companies are skyrocketing as they are devoting their time to discover the vaccines.

Let's forget Theranos Inc. did a decade ago because it would cost millions of life. There might be lots of Elizabeth Holmes waiting to turn their business around in the name of vaccines. Let's be careful before investing in the companies.

The start-up Theranos Inc. went from everyone's darling to the drumster fire in a matter of months after the Wall Street Journal exposed huge flaw in company's promise to detect an array of illness from a single "finger-prick" of blood writes the Bloomberg Business Week.

Ironically, this pandemic is creating a similar situation like the Theranos a decade ago. Hoping for the lucrative gains these companies might recreate the same environment like the one cultivated by Theranos. The stock price of these companies since the pandemic looks very bullish.

  1. Moderna Inc. (MRNA):

2. Inovio Pharma Inc.(INO):

3. Gilead Sciences, Inc.(GILD):

4. Novavax, Inc. (NVAX):

5. Johnson & Johnson (JNJ):

The fight against Covid-19 is ethical but we all should be aware of the negative side they could bring. We shouldn't fall on the same trap like Theranos did.We should be aware of the scandal that could possibly happen.

Intention vs Goal (IM 589)

There is a fundamental difference between an intention and a goal. A goal is the destination, the specific point on the map where you want to arrive. Intention is the driving force that moves you toward that destination.

A goal gives us something to achieve, providing a target for our efforts. Intention gives meaning to the path we take to get there. It is the underlying "why" that fuels the process. Without a strong intention, a goal is just a hollow trophy.

When your intention is clear, your goals become more grounded and more purposeful. They are no longer just external markers of success but reflections of your internal values. By aligning your daily actions with a deeper intention, you ensure that the journey itself is as valuable as the achievement. Focusing on the quality of your intention is what ultimately determines the quality of your results.

Life before and after COVID (IM 588)

The Coronavirus pandemic has brought a massive impact in human life today. The work, family, health and a daily schedule as a whole are being impacted so bad. This has also impacted my daily habits and I had to modify it.

Beginning of the 2020, I was motivated to start my day by accomplishing the series of moments like a flow after a flow. My schedule before the Covid-19 looked like this:

The morning schedule is pretty messed up right now as staying home has stopped my running days. The classes are online.

Life after quarantine is very different from before in many ways. Morning days has turned into investing and trading than running. Now, I'm working on to modify my schedules. Hope the modified schedule will work pretty well.

The thought factor (IM 587)

Any accomplishment is linked with the thought aligned with the purpose. Thought aligned fearlessly to the purpose becomes a creative force that can drive any changes and successes.

A man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart, and set out to accomplish it and this purpose should be the central point of the thoughts. The planted thoughts bloom and become a  fruit which does not fall prematurely to the ground. A man can only rise, conquer and achieve by lifting up his thought.

Achievement is the crown of effort, which is the result of thought. Everything originates from the thought. This is the thought factor.

Thoughts and circumstances (IM 586)

These two are the most fundamental things that are closely related with each other.  As James Allen said, "Circumstances doesn't make a man; it reveals him to himself." What this means is that man is the cause of circumstances and the cause is the thought that is manufactured by the man.

Every circumstances encountered by the man is the result of the thought process they have within them.

A thought thus created by man can not be kept secret, it crystallizes into habit, which finally creates circumstances. For instances, impure thoughts of every kind crystallize into enervating and confusing habits, which solidify into distracting and adverse circumstances. Thoughts of fear, doubt, and indecision crystallize into weak, unmanly, and irresolute habits, which solidify into circumstances of failure, indigence, and slavish dependence.

On the other hand, beautiful thoughts of all kinds crystallize into habits of grace and kindliness, which solidify into genial and sunny circumstances. Pure thoughts crystallize into habits of temperance and self-control, which solidify into circumstances of repose and peace. Thoughts of courage, self-reliance, and decision crystallize into
manly habits, which solidify into circumstances of success, plenty, and freedom,

The divinity that shapes our ends is in ourselves; it is our very thought.
