Mathematical or natural objects (IM 625)

Let's take a sphere. Is the sphere a part of nature or is it a mathematical object? This is difficult for mathematician or a normal individual to say. Most of the objects present in the nature are described and supported by mathematical theory.

As a result, it is very difficult to distinguish mathematical object from the natural object. It follows that all the mathematical concept is actually the part of nature.

"Possibly" vs "Likely" (IM 624)

If you flip a coin million times, you will not get a million heads. It simply won't happen. But isn't it possible? Yes, it is possible to get heads for every million flip you make. But is it likely? Nope, not all.

Take another example: Drop a bit of black ink in the bowl of water. The ink spreads out and eventually makes the water gray. Will the bowl of gray water ever clear up an produce a small drop of ink? It's not impossible, but very unlikely.

The water and ink is an analogy for why entropy increases. It increases because it's most likely that it will increase, which doesn't mean that it's impossible to decrease. Everything that happens in the universe is just because it's most likely to happen, but there will always a possibility of not happening that way. And "likely" always wins the "possibly" in real world.

Evolution and natural selection (IM 623)

Yes, it's the Darwin who came up with the evolution by the means of natural selection. It provides the most beautiful and elegant explanation of everything that's happening in this universe. It explains not only why we are here but also why trees ,dogs, English, the Russia, the Barcelona Football team and the iPhones are here.

It's simple and powerful, but nobody thought of it before Darwin, and even today most people fail to grasp the essence of it. The main reason for it could be that people take it as a tautology. It's same as saying "successful ideas are successful" or "things that matters matter".

We are never silent (IM 622)

We are never silent. Our mind is very busy. It keeps travelling all the time without any reason; just wandering.

Controlling it is very difficult. We have to understand that it keeps drifting and the only way to control it is to be aware and float with it.

Time and energy (IM 621)

Energy and time is all we have. Wherever we decide to put it will show the result on its basis.

Remember: We are trading our time with the energy we have today expecting to get better result in near future. In most cases, we put wrong energy in wrong time at wrong place and as a result we become victims of our own decisions.

Time goes away so does the energy. We must wisely decide to spend required energy on proper time because it’s worth it…

Analysis that matters (IM 620)

The most important analysis is the self-analysis and it is meaningful as well. The genesis of every development starts with self-analysis. We can’t predict or understand other people or the environment or the market because they change constantly.

We must compare each of our achievement and loss with ourselves. And when we do this we become more self aware, we grow, and we prosper.

Lets start with the meaningful analysis of ourselves because it’s only the analysis that matters.

Planning vs Perceiving (IM 619)

Planning means sticking on the specific idea during execution. It means working from inside out. It means first, figuring out what to achieve and configuring how things unfold and finally sticking on the same plan.

On the other hand, perceiving means seeing and acknowledging things that is happening in the present then working to understand the cause and finally responding to it. It means working from outside in. Perceiving is basically adapting to the present situation or being formless to adapt any circumstances.

The greatest struggle (IM 618)

The most greatest struggle we all face is between feeling and thinking. The feelings are controlled by amygdala, and it operates subconsciously. The thinking, on the other hand, is controlled by prefrontal cortex and  operates consciously.

There is no greater battles than these two.

During any argument, you'll often notice a physical response similar to how to react to fear, which is sub-consciously. Recognizing that, your conscious mind can deny it. The reaction from the subconscious mind comes in spurts as a trigger, while the reaction from conscious mind (pre-frontal cortex) is more constant and gradual.

The greatest are those who acknowledge and reflect on what causes their sub-conscious mind to react and what can be done about it. And this is obviously the greatest struggle of human kind.

Everybody is wired differently (IM 617)

We all experience reality in different way as we all are wired differently. We don't see reality as it is, we see it as the way we are. This is something that we need to acknowledge and deal with. So if you wnat to know the truth and what to do about it, you must understand your own brain.

The better we know about ourselves, the better we can recognize both what be changed and how to change it as well as what can't be changed and what to do about it.

The power lies when you can understand how you and others are wired ...

The power of team (IM 616)

It is said that there are no more than five musical notes, yet the combinations of these notes rise to more melodies than can ever be heard.

There are no more than five primary colors, yet in combination they produce more hues than can ever be seen.

There are no more than five cardinal tastes, yet the combinations of them yield more flavors than can ever be tasted.

In the same way, there is always an energy deep-seated in a team that cannot always be seen, but it exists. When the right people come together in the right spirit, something larger becomes possible than what any one person could have produced alone.
