Core values (IM 695)

Core value is the blueprint that an individual or any organization believe and follow. It’s reflected in their all works and projects.

Defining core values is important because it gives us the direction and motivates us for future works. It creates the sense of belonging to the employees and also to the customers who use your products.

So, defining core values should be the first thing to do before establishing any companies or organization.

Here are my five core values:

Embrace and drive change.
Be adventurous, creative and open minded.
Do more with less
Pursue growth and learning
Be humble and determined

What is the difference? (IM 694)

Malcolm Gladwell, in his book “Outliers”, talks about the difference between people who fail and succeed in anything. He talks about how in wealthy families they teach their children something very different than in poor and middle class families.

He gives an example of how to interact with an authority. Middle class and poorer people are taught to fear authority. In this industrial age, you have to fear from the guy who runs the factory/company.

In his book, Gladwell gives an example of how poor and rich children interact when they are taken to dentists. The middle class family will teach their child that the dentist is God. He has dentist have studied for 10 years and been doing this for his lifetime. He knows everything. So, you as a child keep quiet and just wait for it to be over and do what he says to do.

Whereas the wealthy families, they approach this situation completely differently. They tell their child, the  dentist is your friend. He has studied as a dentist for 10 years just to serve and help you. He is the resource you can use to solve you teeth issue. If you have any questions about your mouth and teeth then you must ask the dentist because it’s his job to help you.

This two kind of thinking is so fascinating and one of this exists in us. The former one will not improve us and make us successful while the later one does.

It is the thinking system that makes the difference.

An experiment (IM 693)

Everything we do is an experiment. The result is unknown and it's wrong to make a conclusion before an experiment is finished.

The experiment done by one person might be different from the others. So, it's important to know that everyone in this world has their own experiment. The journey of life is the biggest experiment of all.

The result from someone else's experiment might not match with your experiment and it's okay as it is meant to be.

The tragedy here is we take every step as a reality and conclude based on what we see and feel, touch and hear.

It makes life easy and meaningful when we realize that every moment is an experiment and we are the experimenter and our situation or the world is the guinea pig.

The disease of knowing (IM 692)

Lao Tzu in his book "The Tao Te Ching" said that to know and yet think we do not know is the highest attainment and not to know and yet think we do know is a disease.

This disease is the hindrance towards greatness because it stays between us and our future. It is the obstacle for learning as it closes all the door of learning.

Rome wasn't built in a day (IM 691)

Every valuable accomplishment takes time. Nothing worthwhile appears in a blink. It asks for patience, hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

Rome was not built in a day. It took years. And so does anything meaningful we hope to build in our own lives.

Our future works the same way. What matters deeply usually takes longer than we want. It forms slowly, through repeated effort, delayed reward, and a willingness to keep going before the result becomes visible.

Every meaningful work will take time. The question is whether we are patient enough to stay with it.

The best option (IM 690)

It may not be the perfect option and it may not be the option that you would like to choose.

But based on the situation and context it is the best one among other.

No option is perfect. There is only the best among the rest.

Are we really smart (IM 689)

We argue that we are smart. But the truth is we’re not.

In this vast universe there are billions people and there are billions and billions thing we don’t even see, touch, hear, taste or feel. And those thing that we can’t see, hear, feel, taste, or touch can’t be even brought into mind and then into action.

So, we don’t know most things that exists in this world. We try to be smart and pretend that we know a lot of the information. But that’s not true.

So, we all are dumb at many things.

How we see things (IM 688)

A wind extinguishes a candle but fans a fire.

Whatever the impact is, the consequences is always good on the background even though there is negative impact directly.

It is up to us how we view consequences. Everything depends on how we see things. It depends on perception.

We can benefit a lot from this….

Note to imind team (IM 686)

While choosing a team member, what matters the most is honesty, integrity, accountability, and their mindset as a whole. Choosing team based on the smartness might hurt you.

It’s is the most difficult thing to choose the right team because you can measure the smartness and talent from the academic report, but honesty, integrity, accountability and their mindsets are the intrinsic factor. There is no any metric to measure them.

Most importantly, talent and intelligence can be learned and everyone can learn it (if they are determined), but honesty, integrity and sincerity, not everyone can learn it. One has to born with it or has to courage to make it their purpose. So, it’s very important to consider these factor.

The everyday rule (IM 685)

There is a quote that describes how important it is to follow your heart everyday. Everybody wants to bring change in their life and they wait for the moment to bring that change.

Well, the truth is that the moment never comes...

It should be created everyday. So the saying goes:

"If you can one day renovate yourself, do so from day to day. Yes, let there be a daily renovation."
