Understanding your passion (IM 451)
Passion is not something you discover after the work is done. True passion is what pulls you toward the work before results appear. Work alone does not create passion. Passion gives work its meaning, its energy, and its staying power.
This matters because direction cannot be built on force forever. Discipline can push us for a while, but only genuine passion can keep us moving when the road becomes slow, difficult, or uncertain. What drives us most deeply often reveals what we are truly meant to build, protect, or pursue.
To understand your passion is to understand the source of your direction.
