Learn to ignore (IM 339)

There are many things in life that simply deserve to be ignored. We often face situations where certain distractions or opportunities seem important and might offer immediate, short term happiness, but we must have the discipline to look past them.

It is difficult to turn away from these instant rewards, but it is always worth ignoring those minor perks to save our focus for the bigger picture. When we are playing the long game, what gives us momentary pleasure does not really matter. Short term gratification is often just a distraction from our true path. What matters is long term fulfillment.

We must train our awareness to distinguish between a genuine opportunity and a shiny distraction. Learn to ignore those things that do not align with your core purpose. By letting go of the trivial, we create the space necessary to build something that lasts.
