What after finding the principles? (IM#141)
Once you have identified your principles and core values, the most critical work begins. Discovery is only the first step; the true challenge lies in execution. These principles must do more than exist as abstract ideas; they must actively guide the way you make every decision, especially when those decisions are difficult.
Living by these rules requires a total shift in your self-governance. They should become your default operating system for navigating the world. When you choose to walk by these self-imposed laws, your work ceases to be a series of random tasks and begins to reflect a deeper structure.
Consistency is what transforms effort into excellence. When your actions are consistently aligned with your principles, your work becomes something to behold. It gains a quality of permanence that leaves a lasting mark on the world. This is the essence of true discipline: the commitment to follow your code until it becomes your way of life.
