Innovative Mind#6: Mistakes, Failures and solutions
Mistakes are constant in life. In fact, they can become some of life’s best lessons. They make us aware of our actions and show us where something went wrong, so that we can do better the next time.
Failures are part of the equation of life, but they are not the whole equation. They often reveal a mismatch between our process, our aim, and ourselves. Just because something is not working does not mean we are finished. It may simply mean that something needs to be rethought, adjusted, or rebuilt.
That is why failure should not always be treated as defeat. Sometimes it is feedback. Sometimes it is a sign that the approach, not the purpose, needs revision. We have to reverse-engineer the process, learn from what happened, and give it another honest try.
Solutions are not found in the avoidance of mistakes and failures. They are found in the acceptance and active acknowledgment of them. Everything worthwhile in life asks us to face difficulty, learn from it, and move through it with more clarity than before.
