Great vs Famous (IM 735)

They are not the same. Greatness has nothing to do with being famous.

The goal for getting either of one or both is acceptable but it’s not obvious to reach those. Being great has its own path and so does the fame.

They are never the same. Greatness has its own genius and ingredient and famous has its own. They should not be misunderstood.

It's not enough (IM 734)

Having a lot of information is nice but nothing can replace an actual experiences. Doing is important.

Doing completes the information…

Theory is nice. Having an information about most of the thing is good but without executing and becoming a practitioner, those information are of no real use.

We learn by doing not by assembling a lot of information about lots of things.

Facts vs Dream (IM 733)

We can debate on which one is better. But it’s true that facts are better than the dreams.

Dream is important but one can’t ignore that fact. One can’t ignore the brutal truth. This reality, the truth will hit us hard in the way towards dream. Following the dreams but ignoring the facts might take us nowhere.

So, it’s important to know that the facts are better than the dreams.

The paradox of time (IM 732)

The paradox of our time is that we’ve more knowledge but less insight.

We’ve more experts, yet more problem.

We got more friends but less communications.

We got fancier house but broken homes.

We’ve more hospitals, yet less treatments.

We make profits but loose relationships.

We’ve more thoughts but less sense.

We’ve multiplied our strength but reduced our values.

We’ve cleaned our rooms but polluted our souls.

We read too little but speak too much.

We talk more but do less.

We plan more but accomplish less.

We make huge promises, yet fulfill too little.

We spend more but have less.

We’ve learned wining but still lack patience and persistence.

We’ve become big men but with small character.

We have extraordinary personality, yet common knowledge.

We argue we are happy, yet we struggle for sound sleep every night.

We’ve too much to show but less content to store.

We’ve added years to life but not life to years.

We’ve learned to survive but not to live.

Hedgehog Concept (IM 731)

Jim Collins, in his book Good to Great, describes a concept followed by companies that achieved greatness. He claimed that just as a hedgehog focuses on one big thing, companies that aspire to become great must focus on their central strength. This idea is called the “Hedgehog Concept.”

The concept is represented by the intersection of three circles, built around three important questions:

  • Understanding what you can (and cannot) be the best at.
  • Knowing what drives the economic engine.
  • Defining what you’re truly passionate about.

Companies like Walgreens, Coca-Cola, Circuit City, Gillette, and Kroger attained greatness by aligning themselves with this concept and bringing breakthrough results.

Knowing the answers to these three questions—and operating consistently at their intersection—can build a great company.

Way to evolve? (IM 730)

Evolution is the single most greatest force in the universe. It’s the only thing that is permanent and  it drives everything.

Seeking perfection is the bad choice to make. Instead seek imperfection and deal with them. That is the great way to growth and evolution?

Is it the best option to evolve better?

Evolving better (IM 729)

Execution is everything. No matter whether it is Apple, Tesla, ServiceNow Inc., Amazon or the most innovative companies in the world, they never grew older- they grew better.

The reason behind getting better of this companies is always captivating and intriguing. These innovative companies supply the products as per the consumers need; they also streamline the supply chain. They create something new.

In other words they solve real world’s problem or the problem created by all companies as a whole.

Most importantly, all these companies know their ‘WHY’. They know they exist and with that in mind they fulfill  costumers demands, which is their first priority.

When it comes to building a successful company, “Does it make money?” should be the question but it should never be the first question. The first question should always be- “Does it serve?”  “Does is add value to others?”

This is how world advances and you and your business advances with the world…

What is the greatest force (IM 728)

Most people say that the greatest force of world is human’s mind and wisdom. Some argue by saying the physical strength and mental toughness is what drives human forward. But both of these arguments might not be correct.

Let's go back to history: if it was true how did Homo sapiens became dominant over Neanderthal man even though the Neanderthal man were more stronger and have more cranial capacity than us, sapiens. Why did Neanderthal man became extinct?

The greatest force in the world is human emotions. It’s the most important ingredient of human evolution. It is because of the human’s ability to create fiction that triggers human emotions that has made us dominant.

Let's see the present moments. The shootout of black person by a police officer in America on May 2020 not only enraged the people of America but the whole world. Even in the dangerous situation of Coronavirus, people from all around the world came to street without caring their health. Why does the slogan of "Black Lives Matter" matters? Why do we care more about child right? Why do we care about climate change today than ever before?

Isn't this all about human emotions?

In business world: we buy products that create emotions. It's because of the emotion brands exist. We buy Nike sneakers, Apple's phone, Tesla's car. It's all because of the emotions.

Mastering our emotions is the greatest challenge in today's world because the world functions with emotions but it is a requirement.

Self-fulfilling prophecy (IM 727)

When we act as though we like someone we start to really like them. An Adelphi University called this study as, “The behavior of believing another likes or dislikes  makes the belief come true”.

Researchers told that the volunteers ended up liking the unrelated subject they volunteered on. If any thoughts is taken as  to be true it actually becomes true. This is what self-fulfilling prophecy is about. And it is present in our life everyday.

It is analogy with respect begets respects, love begets love and like begets like….

As Wayne Dyer said,’ When we change the way we look at the things, the things we look at change.”

Never ending cycle (IM 726)

We grow because we take new challenges. We face even more new challenges because we are growing.

It’s an endless cycle.

The more we grow, the more decisions we make and the more challenges we face. But It’s a good thing- it’s the only way we survive.

The more we face challenges the more we learn.

There are no experts in what we’re doing ; except for us. We are becoming better version of ourselves as we do this, as we make more decisions, as we face more challenges.
