The logic of the game (IM#147)

We are all playing some kind of game in life. For some, it is the game of freedom. For others, it is security, success, love, innovation, or recognition. Even when people appear to be chasing the same thing, they are often driven by different inner motives. That is why lives can look similar on the surface while moving in completely different directions underneath.

The problem is that many of us lose sight of the game we are actually playing. Instead of living by purpose, we get distracted by temporary pleasures, shallow approval, and the endless pull of entertainment. We seek things that give quick relief, not because they fulfill us, but because they momentarily cover emptiness or confusion.

When purpose is unclear, distraction becomes attractive. We start chasing what feels good now rather than what matters over time. That is why so many people stay busy but still feel lost. Movement is not the same as direction.

The real logic of the game begins with knowing your "why". When your values, purpose, and direction become clear, your choices become clearer too. Without that inner orientation, life becomes reaction. With it, your actions begin to align with something deeper and more lasting.
