Flexibility and self-accountability (IM 319)

These two are among the most important qualities for succeeding in life.

Flexibility allows us to accept reality and remain open to learning—from other people, from experience, and from situations we did not expect. It keeps us from becoming rigid, defensive, or trapped inside our own limited view.

Self-accountability means taking responsibility for our failures, our choices, and our results. Instead of blaming circumstances or other people, we acknowledge what is ours and learn from it. That is how failure becomes useful rather than defeating.

Both flexibility and self-accountability are crucial. One keeps us open to correction, and the other keeps us honest about our part in the outcome. Together, they help us grow, improve, and move forward with greater clarity.
