Calm the Body First
The mind follows the body.
When breathing is shallow, thoughts speed up. When shoulders are tight, thinking becomes defensive. When posture collapses, energy drops.
Before solving the problem, regulate the body. Slow the breath. Relax the jaw. Unclench the hands. Sit upright.
As Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
Many problems shrink once the nervous system settles.
Peace is often physiological before it is philosophical.
