A Drill Down Technique (IM 875)

If we have same people doing the same thing, we can't expect different result. Einstein defined insanity as doing same thing over and over and expecting different result.

To get effective result and to be productive, "Pareto's Law" can be applied. It's popularly known as 80/20 rule. That means 80 percent of the result depends on 20 percent of the input or 80 percent of the result is brought by 20 percent of the people.

A drill down technique can be applied to make 80/20 rule even more effective. Step one is to list the problem, two is identifying the root cause, three is creating a plan and finally executing the plan.
