Re-create yourself (IM 582)

The character you seem to have been born with is not necessarily who you are; beyond the characteristics you have inherited, your parents, your friends, and you peers have helped to shape your personality. Remaking and working on yourself like a clay should be one of your greatest and important life tasks; it makes you an artists - an artist creating yourself. Julius Caesar recreated himself to become a great emperor of the Rome by setting up new ideals back in 45 B.C. Similarly, Aurore Dupin Dudevant created herself as a "George Sand" to become a successful writer back in 19th century. The world always wants to assign a role in life. And once you accept that role you are doomed. Instead forge a new identity, one by creating yourself, one that has no boundaries assigned to it by a resentful world and fellow people.
