What matters the most (IM 534)
During this crisis, I’ve been reminded of what truly matters. When everything else feels uncertain, five things rise to the surface:
- Health.
- Family.
- Integrity.
- Kindness.
- Courage.
These aren’t just ideas to admire—they’re the foundation we need to lean on during an epidemic. Staying healthy protects not only ourselves but the people we love. When we take care of our own well‑being, we strengthen our families and our communities.
Kindness becomes a force multiplier. In a moment when fear can spread as quickly as a virus, choosing compassion helps slow the panic and strengthens our collective resilience. And courage isn’t about pretending we’re not afraid; it’s about acting responsibly and supporting one another despite the fear.
If we hold onto these five values, we give ourselves the best chance to get through this moment—together.
