Foundation of happiness (IM 334)

The foundation of happiness is radical acceptance: acknowledging that everything happening right now is exactly what belongs in this moment. Seeking happiness is one of life’s great ironies—the more you chase it, the more you reinforce the subconscious belief that you lack it. You cannot find something you are actively proving is missing.

Instead of chasing a feeling, start acknowledging the "now." When you accept that every experience has its place and purpose, the search ends. You don't need to add anything to your life to be happy; you just need to stop believing you are incomplete. Happiness isn't a trophy to be won; it is the quiet realization that you already have everything you need to be present.
